What is this latest low carb/keto craze, that has exploded all over social media?
It is a CHAFFLE!  But what the heck is a chaffle anyway?

A Chaffle is basically a waffle made of egg and CHeese, hence the name.

I’m unsure who actually came up with the name “Chaffle,” or if there was a specific recipe that started it, but I have seen many variations shared, from egg and cheddar cheese, to egg, cheddar and mozzarella, with additional spices and without.

But wait … there’s more!  Want something a bit heartier?  Add some ground sausage. Maybe some onions and peppers, or how about making a pizza flavored one, with pepperoni and spices?

In the mood for a sweeter chaffle?  You can easily create custom chaffles for everyone’s palette. 

Whatever your craving is, there is a “Chaffle” (Waffle) to take care of it AND is perfect with your low carb/keto lifetyle.

Here is a favorite sweeter variation in our household right now.  My hubby LOVES it and asked for it almost daily!

Yield: 3 (Chaffles) Waffles

Low Carb/Keto Sweet (Chaffle) Waffle

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 12 minutes
Total Time: 17 minutes

Sweet breakfast Low carb/keto Chaffle/Waffle


  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1 TBLS. Almond Flour
  • 1/2 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Spray Avocado Oil

  7. Remove waffle and continue with the remainder of the batter. This recipe makes 3 small waffles.
